ScarWork is a hands-on, gentle therapy that uses specialised techniques to soften the tissue and help fade the scar. The light, non-invasive techniques include multi-directional skin stretches, strokes and digital or palm pressure that help reorganise the fascia and integument in both new and old scar tissue.
Typically used before, during or after athletic events, sports massage can benefit non-athletes, too: we can all injure ourselves in our daily lives, and this treatment involves the manipulation of soft tissue to release tension, reduce pain, restore range of movement and promote good condition.
Emerald Massage Therapies offers a holistic approach to treatments for the body, mind, and soul.
I am Jane Stokes, a qualified holistic therapist, providing a wide range of treatments around Cahir, and in my clients’ homes.
I believe it is important not just to treat the symptom or condition but the whole individual. I do this by looking at the problem and its cause and utilising therapeutic techniques.
My clients have seen tangible benefits from my treatments, which include Myofascial Release and various types of massage including Swedish, warm bamboo and pregnancy. I am also qualified in ScarWork, a light touch therapy that reduces scar tissue including burns, trauma tissue and endometriosis. My experience as a carer means I am at ease treating elderly people and those with debilitating conditions including Motor Neurone Disease.
If you are suffering from tension in your neck and shoulders, back pain, headaches, or are anxious and stressed, I can help you. I also work with people who have suffered training injuries or are preparing for an event such as a marathon.
Like every other business I have had to make changes to the way I practice and am constantly in touch with my professional association the IMTA, (Irish Massage Therapists Association) and am following government guidelines.
To that effect in lockdown, my online shop will remain open, selling vouchers and products but massage treatments will cease until the end of lockdown. I will then re-open as normal.
I am now required as per HSE and the IMTA advice to have a folder with my policies and procedures which is available for you to look at, at any time. This also contains a record of cleaning procedures and clients seen in case of an inspection.
If you do have any COVID 19 symptoms, awaiting test results, near anyone that has had Covid 19 or you have been abroad in the last 14 days, Please DO NOT attend my clinic or allow me to come to your house.
If you do need to cancel for those reasons there is no charge for missed appointment, otherwise normal cancellation charges will apply..
• Treatments will be upto an hour in duration both in Clinic and mobile.
• All clients will be required to complete forms electronically unless able to do so. Please let me know if you cannot and we can arrange a time to complete it over the phone.
• There will be an extra COVID 19 treatment form that you will need to fill in prior to your treatment, this is required by my professional association (IMTA, Irish Massage Therapists Association), insurance and HSE.
• I will also need a signature from you of attendance to my clinic for contact tracing purposes. This will be kept on record for 21 days as per government guidelines.
